PitchBop is an innovative ear training application intended to enhance the connection between your musical ear and your instrument performance by directly correlating skill level with performance accuracy.

Different from traditional ear training apps where responses are given through screen taps devoid of rhythmic elements, PitchBop offers a performance-oriented experience where you listen and play on your instrument or utilize your voice.

Through the 'Call and Response' mechanism, Dr. Bop, the esteemed jazz cat of PitchBop, presents a brief musical phrase for you to listen to, allowing you the same duration to replicate the phrase back for assessment of your accuracy.

How PitchBop Operates

Beneath its user-friendly interface lies a sophisticated AI-based algorithm that generates endless melodies and dynamically adjusts difficulty levels according to your progress.

Utilizing the 'Call and Response' structure, Dr. Bop plays a brief phrase for listening before affording you the opportunity to reproduce it within the designated time frame for evaluation. Feedback on your performance is then provided post-session, with difficulty levels calibrated based on your progress to enable focused practice without manual adjustments.

App Characteristics

• Pitch Complexity: Varying levels of pitch complexity from 1 to 9 for customized challenges.
• Rhythmic Complexity: Adjust the rhythmic complexity between 1 and 9.
• Instrument Selection: Choose from a range of instruments, including voice, each with specific available ranges.
• Metronome Settings: Set metronome volume and select desired beat combinations.
• Profile Tab: Track progress exclusively for game purposes in Dr. Bop's Game mode.

Further enhancements include scale and harmony selection accessible via the up and down arrows under “Scale,” revealing success rates and pitch/rhythmic complexities from recent sessions in the "Call-and-Response" model.

If challenges seem daunting, begin with slider adjustments or adapt range settings for comfort.
